Why attack? On every forum when this comes up , the same.  Many of us old  ones either cannot digest meat or cannot afford meat.  Yes I prefer not to take life, but when I say I prefer to look my neighbours cattle in the lovely face and assure them they are safe with me... Cows have such fine faces ...and having raised twin pet lambs.... My choices.
I wonder about the need to attack as well, it's a personal choice. Of course if you've been a meat eater and stop without making any adjustments to the rest of your diet, you will be short of something. But there's plenty of nutrients to be had in a vegan diet, think of all those beans and nuts and grains and all those lovely coloured veg. Also think about what the standard modern diet is doing to the overweight, increasingly diabetic, population of the nation

It’s not an attack, it’s the fact that someone, usually a first poster will put on a contentious issue, getting everyone riled up, as is what’s happening here now, they don’t come back to join in the conversation, win win for them they’ve stirred up .

  • Good luck I'm veggie not vegan and think.that strikes a better balance  but ethically  struggle with dairy products.  Free range organic eggs I'm okay with. Several  friends  do full vegan thing and they are as first as fleas so don't  be put off by naysayers.

    I hope I've not " attacked " anyone.
I don't drink alcohol, I don't smoke, I don't "do drugs" I rarely drink caffeine. Those are my choices , I don't bang on about it nor expect anyone to copy my choices , or try to make feel guilty about different choices.
However , many , NOT ALL vegans DO bang on about their choice and many, NOT ALL do try to make folk feel guilty about eating meat, dairy etc.
My garden is bordered on 2 sides by fields with cows and  I love them dearly , but if nobody drank their milk, they'd be killed, plain and simple.

I think it's fairly obvious this is spam, looking at the thread, and especially when it's on a weekend. If I'd looked in here yesterday, I'd have flagged it up for the mods to look at.

Although - if they're vegan, maybe we should call it something else, and not spam...  :D

  • As I said yesterday I'm vegan due to health reason but my family are not I cook red meat, chicken and fish throughout the week for them. I would not force anyone of them to give up meat.

As nutcutlet said there are lot of beans, nuts, grains and loads of fruit and veg. I would not for one moment advise anyone to become vegan without looking into to fully. Do I miss meat honestly no, I don't look at what others have one their plate and wish I could eat it. You just need a good stock of herbs and spices.

I also agree with Lyn re first poster where are they, he/she never can back into the discussion or did they take my suggestion and look for a vegan site as they don't wish to grown their own food or flowers.

Its much the same to me as religion - I would never criticise anyone for any faith they hold and that they find helps them. I only object when they try to impose that faith on me.

Diet is a very personal matter and there are lots of reasons to include or exclude various food groups. OH can't tolerate dairy, I can't eat eggs so we have considered a vegan diet. But due to other intolerances and preferences, it doesn't suit us. So we eat a low meat omnivorous and seasonal diet.

People are chemically quite different. The key is to find a diet that makes you feel healthy and to accept that just because it works for you doesn't mean anyone else would do well on it.
But, as you know, with this style of nutrition - the body does not have enough vitamins.
The OP seems to have been a troll - unless he posted on the wrong forum by mistake. It seems an odd place to ask the question and the way it is phrased seems deliberately contentious.
