That’s the  only problem Anni, but I suppose with enough wine I won’t need my painkillers, I’ll be oblivious to pain.

  • Amazingly I didn't get to cut any leaves off today (busy arguing with a rhododendron), but I might break my own recently-made rule and have a wee drink or two tonight :)

    Enjoy tonight folks!

We will have to forgo the wine until we get back from Gardeners Club, I'm looking forward to the talk from Bob Brown of Cotswold Plants. Should be good. Long-suffering OH is going as well but at least he got chocolates this morning! (not a bribe, honest!)

I like Bob Brown, a real character. We went to CGF a while back and got chatting, he is very enthusiastic!

AnniD, You're right, he had the Club in stitches tonight. An eccentric character alright.
I bought a lovely new Coronilla valentina 'Lauren Stevenson' from him.

I get his catalogue every year, l think his son has taken over now. He (Bob) used to be a school teacher l believe and marked the plants out of 10. His comments on various plants were very entertaining, one of the few catalogues l read from cover to cover.
  • We went toRosemoor today. All their hellebores are in full flower - and leafless, so somebody must have had a few drinks
