I just had time this morning to trim 'Jamie's Dragon' aka a topiarised lonicera bush named for my grandson. Roots of several shoots are embedded in big rockery stones and I couldn't kill it, so decided when he was threeish to turn it into something rather more interesting. He's now 10!  Spent the afternoon at Hilliers with a friend and bought some bedding plants, a hebe and 3 bags Jack's Magic on special offer. Should keep me going for a while but doesn't compare with HH's one ton of manure.

Marran About two or three years ago I bought just the wooden piece of my spade and fitted it myself. I can't remember how much it cost but it was cheaper for me to do it myself than buy a new spade.

Been to the tip 3x today lots of claring bottom end of garden old pallets and wood all bit rotted - the wood bin got well filled up at tip by everyone and it was not getting squashed down - rather knackered still loads to clear - also helped get one fence panel in place,  light wind made the blossom fall fom next doors big cherry tree like it was snowing

Finally a full day at the Allotment, planted Rocket & Charlotte potatoes (Foremost already in 2 weeks ago). I will wait till nearer end of the month to put in the late ones. Planted out module grown Broad Beans will have to sow more. Then mostly hoeing and keeping on top of the fast emerging weeds. Did have a clear up in the fruit cage I have been letting a  plot neighbour put his chickens in there hopefully they will find the raspberry beetle pupae seemed to work last year.

@Dee73 I think I have a handle in the shed... not looked yet.   Dad did the pitchfork so I could have a proper old fashioned long handle. 😀

Yes they are great. Not sure if it was my dad and granddad that had one of those.

Flinster-did you finally get a refund for your chilli seeds.

@Zoomer44 I chose replacement seeds of a different variety rather than a refund. They came up fine so I’m pleased! Thanks for asking! 😀

Flinster. That's good to hear. My chillies and peppers are growing painfully slow and it's still not warm enough to take them to the plot GH.
