Not gardening as such. I clear the shed out and packed things into large plastic tub. Throw out some unwanted stuff so that when the weather is good I can order my greenhouse and start to take down the old shed. I did put the strawberries into troughs. I'ts been mild and dry here so hope it's been the same for everyone.

I spent most of the day pulling ivy off the wall and the old fences in preparation for the new ones. Not a nice job and now I've got a bit of an irritated throat - forgot about the dust the ivy holds.  Hope it's only that anyway and not a cold coming. Lovely day though.

Lizzie27 same here last week does make you sneeze getting new fences put in and old ones were most coated in ivy lots of dust from broken down twigs leaves and really does cling to fences and grows strong roots

We have had to have some tree works done. I know it has to be done, but don't have to like it.
Spent the last two days trying to put everything back together again. Stuff moved to safety in pots, and other potted things moved out of the way.  Holes in the lawn and beds .
Try not to get upset over broken things like fritillaries all looking so good all broken,  Trlliium areas trodden on. So much stuff just coming up.
I can't protect everything. I know a lot of it will regrow.

While they do clean up fairly well  why the heck do they then blow all the crud into the flower beds. I meant to ask them not to bother, I would rather clean that last bit myself properly. Just about in tears as most of where it was blown were clean areas.

First job yesterday was cleaning up nice neighbours who let us have access for some work on his driveway. He does not garden and not much affected not there much either. just wanted to get that done and out of the way in case he came home..
    Knackered.

Got my son to help out and finally got our new fence started (the plank is just for alignment).

A fair bit more to do tomorrow.

Bought some sage, oregano, parsley and chives to start the herb garden next.

Sorry you have had such a stressful time @Rubytoo . Even when they are trying to be careful, it's almost inevitable that things will be damaged, and l know what you mean about the crud. Don't wear yourself out trying to do it all, you'll get there in the end.
Have been making  plans for tomorrow,  as well as 2 trugs full of pots to be washed, l really should get on with sowing seeds. Monty was pricking his out on GW and l haven't even started. Also saw him potting up dahlias, something else l need to do. At least the forecast is good, although worryingly there is no sign of rain in the forecast at least until April 4th.

Had a sort out of my beds, lifted a few plants; and split and potted them on for my sister, who's tackling her garden this year. I've got loads of Luzula nivea, geraniums and persicaria for her.

Off outside in a minute to paint more fence.  Woopedoo!!  Hate it, have a horrible panel to do that has a tall camelia and a very prickly climbing rose in front of it.

Know exactly how you feel Ruby.  Hubby did his Edward Scissorhands impression on the tree in the middle of our garden just after I had  finished the spring tidy up.  He made such a horrible mess I didn't speak to him for two days.  It took a few days but it's looking OK again now.  Take your time and don't rush and wear yourself out trying to get it shipshape again.  When the perennials take over you wont see a lot of the crud and it  won't damage the garden and I'm sure the bulbs etc will be back with a vengance next year.
