I gave away an old window and shower screen for allotment use on Freecycle which was collected within hours - result!

The lanes around here are bursting with wild primroses and cowslips in lovely soft yellows.   Beautiful in all lights.

My reason to be cheerful is The Speaker kicking Mrs Mayhem into touch by reminding her of the rules.

I might be more supportive of The Squeaker if he maintained neutrality in all his work.  Having a car bumper sticker with B******* to Brexit suggests otherwise.

Surely the job of The Speaker is ensure that Parliamentary procedures are followed? As such, he'd be wrong NOT to block a repeat vote.
I'm not saying I'm keen on the consequences, but I like to see them kicked into touch.

There is no written Constitution - something my scientists in Belgium found mind-boggling.  He is using a precedent from the 17th century.  It is arcane but entertaining.  Remains to be seen whether it proves to be helpful to the process or just bloody-minded obstruction.

I agree @Hostafan1 ... the rule was established in order to prevent the bullying of parliament by the government ... whichever way anyone voted it’s obvious that the rule needs to be heeded at the present time to stop the continual Groundhog Day we’ve been getting.

"arcane but entertaining" is what I find amusing about it. Coming from a guy who has to wear silk stockings as part of his uniform  , what do you expect?
We either embrace the "tradition" of "The House" or we give it an overhaul .
What amuses me most is that nobody else told Mayhem about this rule. ( last used in the 1920s I heard )
