The local cat lady has sold her house and is moving away. Her 5 cats have been a total blight on the area for years and I'm so pleased she's taking them elsewhere :)
our neighbour has 9 , but as  they breed, and behave ,  like vermin, that figure might be wrong.

  • Way back a woman moved into a tiny cottage (one and a half up two down) behind our garden ... she brought 22 cats with her from her inner city home to a very rural village ... she didn’t keep them in to acclimatise them and most of the cats just ran off across the fields and weren’t seen again ... goodness knows what happened to them ... I expect the foxes probably got them 🙄 She said she loved cats ... what a way to treat them 😡

I'd have the bunting out and the champagne on ice.
Bet the local bird population soars too  :)

Two resident pussies here and bird population soaring cos I feed them intelligently.

The previous owners had 3 cats and didn't feed the birds so it's taken a while for our local birds to cotton on and now the're teaching their young to enjoy communal dust baths outside our window which is really good to see.

Landscapers in today, digging the foundations for our new greenhouse. Dave has just unearthed here an old metal bedstead. The greenhouse itself is being put up in November.

He's lucky it was only an old bedstead frame.  When we had our old concrete drive replaced with block paving they found an old cast iron oven. It was incredibly heavy which possibly explains why it had been buried rather than being disposed of more conventionally.

That bedstead is now an art installation. I’ve been on the phone to Tate Modern.
