Just had a pair of slate house signs delivered from a Cornish company, one for the gatepost and one for side of the house. We have lived here for 25 years, well organised aren't we?

Did you go to tennis Dove or decide to rest the aching parts?
I have done a wood wash on the downstairs loo ceiling - pine tongue and groove which has previously been washed with white - and discovered it's a pig to apply and doesn't make much difference so won't be trying it on bigger rooms for now. Holes in bedroom walls filled, skirting tiles scrubbed. Next job is sanding and filling again, masking tape and then radiator spraying. Don't you just love decorating????????

Our house has a name but no sign ... we can’t find one we like so ... OH is going to make one ... we moved here in 2011 ... 🤭
I made one from a piece of wood, burnt in with soldering iron. Lots of fancy embellishments and pretty flowers😇 Now, of course, we have to have a Cornish granite one. 😀
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Yeah! First ducks have appeared on the pond. Sadly it is not much of a pond now, as general infirmity stopped me getting in it last year, and it is now choked with bullrushes and reeds.

Afties all - good to see procrastinating is being taken to a fine art form We've been here almost 6 years, and there's stuff in her bedroom that hasn't seen daylight since then. After two years [at least ] of nagging, cajoling, pleading, shouting and threatening, we are clearing the mess together. You know those programmes about hoarders? Even Kim and Aggie would be stressed.... Amazing what a couple of hours can achieve though. I'm being reasonable and doing a lot of compromising. If I was doing it myself, there'd be **** all left. Glad the arm is ok Dove. Steady as you go though. Doc - now the neighbour will be clear on the address for his next campaign of cr*p. Been decorating too Obelixx. The front hall/stairs now. It's so fiddly and awkward though because of the turn at the top. Have you tried doing some light paint [grey/cream rather than white] mixed with a little PVA glue to cover your bright walls with a base? Not sure if we discussed that before. That sometimes seals them better so that you don't have so many coats of paint to get rid of loud colours. It's a real drag when you seem to get nowhere with it. Not a bad sort of day here after the rain. Birds have been chatting away, and a couple of robins were getting err, ehmm, friendly....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
13 years here. First thing I did was take off the big brass name at the front door. House had been a b&b and I didn’t want anyone else coming! There is a wooden one on the gate but desperately needs replaced. It’s another of these “we will get round to it chores”

Funnily enough, I have been considering a mosaic house number for our gatepost. Just for fun.
No ducks on our pond but we do have pond weed "soup" at one end and plenty of toads and frogs to come.
FG - I have kept leftovers of paints from other rooms and will be mixing those up to make an undercoat for the vibrant turquoise and green walls but first I'm doing door frames on the grounds that masking tape on freshly painted walls is not the best idea. Not even thinking about our stairs yet but they'll need doing sooner or later - after we've decided what to do about that loud striped wallpaper on the landing. I'm thinking it needs steaming and stripping. The mirror and lampshades are not ours!

Afternoon all. Busy day, post back ache. All the deciduous agapanthus have been removed from the polytunnel and set out side. Some of my new ones have been potted on and all have had a wee drink as they're waking up now.
@punkdoc, I had a walk down to the lake. 14 canada geese ( about 12 too many ) and a pair of tufted ducks, which we've never had before. I hope they stay.
