@Fran IOM sorry if i offended! There are two garden centres close to me that sell plants cheaper, no they dont offer free postage but they are just around the corner. I was merely stating my surprise and disappointment that SGC had upped their prices so much and changed the delivery price, which not so long ago was free on a £10 spend. Also many of their 9cm plants used to be £1.99. For me now there is no point buying from them. But yes, i agree their plants are usually good.
It is quite some time since I purchased any plants from SGC so was surprised to receive a 20% discount code from them as someone had used the last code I posted on here. Whoever it was thank you but I am now tempted to look on their website when really I shouldn't be buying any more plants. Not yet anyway. Maybe later...
I have been trying to place an order but they seem to have introduced a new method of payment called Shop pay. This won't accept my offshore postcode so can't place an order. There was never any trouble before as they used to send via Royal Mail. I have sent an email but don't know when I will get a reply. Has anyone else had a problem with this? Also every time you click on shop Pay they send you a code on your mobile and guess who has loads of incoming texts.
@Singing Gardener Thanks for the info. I do have a Paypal account and clicked on it but as the postage had not yet been added on (didn't like the postcode) it had to abandon it. Will have to wait and see if I get a reply from my email.
I had a reply from SGC to say that due to rising costs they can no longer ship plants to IOM. I also tried to order a plant that had just come back in stock from Plants Galore and they replied that due to certain restrictions they are no longer able to ship to IOM. I hope it is not going to happen with many more suppliers or I shall be very restricted to buying plants online.
There plants are way up in price recently not value for money anymore for a 9cm pot. For an extra couple of pounds you would get a litre and half or 2litre pot established plant.
