Ooh @Picidae I have serious clay pot envy, the agapanthus is gorgeous too.
  • haha yes gorgeous pot, really sets them off.
  • they should plant up roundabouts in this country with them as they do in Brittany, would bring great joy!

This is one ( not my plant ) which flowered for the first time with me last summer
    Devon.
  • I'm going to have to be very patient as I'll have to spread the spending out and there are so many to choose from, oh dear and I fear those old pots I was going to put them in are not going to do the trick!! haha

Sue just treat yourself to one or two this year to see how they do in your location. I think if memory serves Hoylands do free p&p if you spend £20, and I think they do some varieties in 2L pots, so you should get a flower or three your first season.
Don't worry about your pots , agapanthus take a while to bulk up and like being a little snug to flower well.
Mine aren't all in posh pots. The ones at the back are in large plastic pots, then I place my fancy ceramic pots that have been presents over the years in front. Taller varieties at the back, shorter at front.
  • Yes I think I will treat myself to something that will flower soon and then see how it goes. I live @ 900ft, windy, rainy but you can never tell and lots of things thrive that you wouldn't think could. lots of micro climates. Think I've sent PM, do i just click on your name?
