Your garden is beautiful Lyn, so colourful, well planned and tidy too, I would be very proud if mine looked so nice.
I can't recommend the seed swap enough moragb1. I received a huge variety of seeds from forum members on here, which introduced a wide variety of new plants to me and my garden. All you need to do is sow the seed either in modules in a frame, or wait until the Spring and sow either directly into the soil or into pots for planting out later. Good luck.
moragb1 I’m not a big seed grower but the echinacea Magnus, a semi dwarf delphinium, whose name I cant remember and the lupin- band of nobles both flowered in their first year. They were all late-so could have been the weather. I started them around this time last year and Most of the seeds germinated. I got them from chitern as others suggested.
The seed swap swap sounds great @Lyn, will check this out. Thanks.
Thanks Guernseydonkey & Alchemist. Nothing on this years seed swap so far. I don't have anything to swap this year but will do next time I hope. Will try that echinacea definitely xx
Thanks Lyn that is very much appreciated. I am never out of my garden again but last year was much clearing and sorting out. Restoring an old garden and been very hard work as I am not fit health wise. This has done me good ha ha . Planted a few things but this year planning a lot. I would appreciate anything but not keen on yellows except rudbeckia. If you have any I will pay for them. Thanks
If you are an RHS member there is a seed distribution scheme. It is a chance to grow some more interesting or unusual plants as well as the common ones. All seed come from RHS gardens. Go to the website for more info. www.rhs.org.uk/membership/rhs-members-seed-scheme . There is a charge of £8.50 and you have to be a member but it would be well worthwhile if you have a large garden to fill.
