Is there a seed list for members to share/buy from?  Or can anyone recommend a good seed company for mainly perennials?
Thanks

Any suggestions on reliable perennials that I can grow easily from seed now and will flower this year. Have a huge garden to fill. Love cottage gardens. Blues whites & pinks xx thanks

Rarely are perennials big enough to flower the same year, some will but I don’t let mine flower, I pick of first years buds to build up a big plant for planting out next year.

I understand what you mean about filling a big garden quickly, I did the same, but it will get filled, maybe take 2 years but then it will be lovely.

When  I first started out I bought the big pack of perennials from J. Parker,  I think they were 36 plants for about 12.00, I brought them on in pots and then planted out in the  Spring, since then they’ve multiplied many times over, so I’ve filled the garden with those, I grew lots from seed which have spread, I collect the seeds for the following year.  I grow a lot of annuals to fill in spaces.
Now days I never buy a plant, it’s all seeds, lots from the seed swap thread and beg steal and borrow. 😉

I have blues, mauves and  pinks in the Spring, but in late summer and autumn I have the hot colours, reds, dark purples and orange.
first two phots are  just 2 years after digging it, second two are later in the summer.

Beautiful Lyn. Makes me sad as that was how my last garden was and worked hard in it for over 20 years. A wee paradise and want my new one to be just as gorgeous. Your garden is superb. Thanks

If you’ve done it once you’ll do it again, I did, and thoroughly enjoyed it, it’s hard work, every day, hour on hour, my rest time now when I hardly go out there, but come March then it will be constant GH work.
I have lots of seeds, if you can think of what you want I could maybe help you. Same with plants come Spring.
You can use the new seed swap thread to put in your requests.
