Depends on what bedding you want to grow ? Pelargoniums ( bedding geraniums ) need a long season to get to flowering stage and the same with Begonia, I wouldn't bother with begonia though difficult to grow require lots of light and heat. I've already started some begonia / pelargoniums and the odd other plant. I start other bedding plants like lobelia - petunia February to March and other bedding later.
Your cold greenhouse isn't much use for early sowing cause its probably to cold at the moment, the house is where the seedling will have to be like fairygirl said. I put most thing in the greenhouse April ish should be earlier for you and plant out late May.
Tomorrow as I ran out of time today I will sow a few each of: Sweet Pepper "Corno di toro rosso", Chinese Lantern "Physalis alkekengi Franchetti) and Alchemilla mollis "Lady's Mantle" all with some gentle bottom heat.
To be closely followed by Hollyhock's and Delphinium's in the next few days once I find the seed I saved and stored so safely

I made the mistake of sowing early a couple of years ago. I have a cold greenhouse and some heated propagators. I ended up with leggy Cosmos, and various other seedlings that were too advanced and too cold to be planted outside - I ran out of space indoors for them all. So now I wait until Late Feb or more likely March to sow the seeds. They all catch up and I don't have to fuss about keeping them warm and preventing them from becoming leggy either. Courgettes, cucumber, squash and various other seeds don't need to be sown until around April time.
One year I had landscaping work which forced me to delay all sowing until early May. I don't grow bedding plants from seed but all the greenhouse veg were great except the melons. Even the chillies produced a huge crop as well as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and aubergines. This year far flung expected grandchild will mean that I'll be away for a while so nothing will get sown until mid-April so am hoping it will work out as well this year.

I saw that Sarah Raven had a video where she decided that Sweet Pea flowered best when she sowed them in December, rather than waiting until closer to Spring.
Based on that advice I had intended sowing some Sweet Pea next weekend. What would the thoughts be on her advice?
I think you should be fine. I stagger my sowings, from late October, then January about now, then again in March. The very early sowings flower and finish early, but the late sowings take over and flower right through the Summer. I do them in those black tube things in my back porch where I get as much light as the days will give and never have any trouble with them.
I planted sweet peas in toilet roll middles yesterday, they are in unheated greenhouse. My polytunnel book says you can plant broad beans and peas in the tunnel now so some of those have been sown too. OH in charge of polytunnel on allotment, I do the pretty stuff in the greenhouse at home but somehow I have the responsibility for all the seedlings which need TLC. Luckily we also have a conservatory which is heated so tender things can go in there, come March /April it will probably be overflowing!
I wait till weeds start growing in my GH beds before starting to sow in earnest, usually March. If weeds can germinate then I work on the basis veg and flowers will too. The exceptions are broad beans and early peas and I try to hold off as long as possible with them but I've been known to sow them in February with mixed results.
I only sow chillies, peppers, aubergines and some toms at home as growing space soon gets filled.
