I feel as if I am living in Texas just now, @Peggy in Texas! Or maybe Florida, as we get summer rains from the Pyrenees and high humidity too. We have had some unusually extreme hot weather here in my (allegedly cooler) northern Spanish mountain climate - it peaked 45ºC last month when it’s normally in the low 30’s at most. Its going to be 38 this week. I have to plant tough, drought-toleran plants and water them - a lot!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Yes, I have been hearing about your heat wave in Europe. And I'm sure it's a lot harder when it's so out of the ordinary. We've grown used to it here in Texas. And watering daily is the only way to keep my flowering plants from dying. The shrubs and grass get water twice a week. They either live or die. And there you are.
According to the thermometer it's 29.2 degrees at 3.30pm . lt's very muggy and the breeze seems to have dropped a bit. Still very cloudy, the odd patch of blue sky visible. Glos.
Hot here, very little breeze, just hot. It is supposed to be 24 here rising to 29 tomorrow. 24 is hot for me, 29 is unbearable. OH been swimming, daughter is in the water (beach) now. Phew!
