Slight cloud & a fresh breeze , warm and sun keeps popping out
Lots of rain yesterday and Forecast to rain later
    Lincoln
  • We had rain, plenty of it from early evening until way past my bed time.  We desperately needed it.  Water butts, pond and animal water bowls all nicely filled.  With the rain we had some wind which wasn't so welcome, so spent most of the day re staking some tall gladioli, Heuchera and similar plants - a small price to pay for not having to water for the next few days.
Sunny and breezy today, a fresh feel to the air.

Sunny, dry day again, and predicted to hit 98-99ºF (around 37C).  What else is new in Central TX in July? ;)

Yes, you have to do whatever gardening is going to get done before noon.  We're not to the worst weather yet.  In August and September, we hit 100º+ (F) temps almost daily.  That will "cook" many plants and severely limits what I can choose to plant out.  Mostly I stick with native Texas, Mexican and South American plants, but even those can cok off in our summer heat and frequent drought periods.

Never mind the plants cooking @Peggy in Texas - I would fry, bake and poach in that sort of heat! About 21 here today and 24 forecast tomorrow- that’s ideal for me.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

I DO cook in it, AuntyRach.  If I had my way, we'd have retired to the Smokey Mountains and cooler weather.  I'm a North Carolina girl by birth.  But I couldn't get my die-hard husband to agree to leaving his birth state so I'm stuck with this sweltering heat 6 months of the year. I envy your UK weather as plants and gardens just thrive in it.
