Storm #3 is almost done. We had 15 inches of snow from that last storm, and probably 5 or 6 inches from this one. Unfortunately, it's warmed up and we're now getting freezing rain, so it's packing all the snow down and making everything treacherously icy. In total, we ended up with just over 2 feet of snow in seven days. I'm bone weary from cleanup at this point! It's wonderful, though, because a good snowpack means a melt-off in the spring that will replenish our wells, which means water for the garden. Always look on the bright side.

Long-range forecast is fairly cold; teens during the day to below zero F at night (-7 to -18 C) for the next week. No more snow storms, though! I knew we'd pay for that mild November and December.

It has been mixed all day. I took the dog for his walk around 3.30 pm so much later than usual and boy was the breeze chilly. It was lovely to be able to go out at that time and it still is daylight. "Spring is acomin".
