The garden looks really miserable, frost blackened, and now sodden.

I know :/ We seem to have gone from an extended early autumn straight into deepest winter. It'll certainly sort the men from the boys in the plant world.
    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

  • We had two days with sunshine and around 10 C. I found time to cycle for an half an hour, which is good for the knees. Also did some leave raking in the garden.

    I my garden.

Grey, misty, damp and dismal here today, with heavy rain forecast for tomorrow. At least we’re out of the minus temperatures for now.

A beautiful warm sunny day 19 deg  B)
  • We're experiencing another crazy storm.  We still have about eight inches of snow on the ground and it's been in the 20-30sF, today it's already 43F with downpouring rain, and wind gusts 50-60MPH.  It's like a hurricane in the wrong season.  Expecting up to three inches of rain in spots, not including the snow melt.  The scary thing is that temperatures are expected to rise to near 50F, then drop nearly 30 degrees in less than six hours, so everything is going to freeze solid.  Wind chills for the next few days are expected to be well below zero F.

I cannot wait for spring. :/

Goodness me, @CrankyYankee - the weather is certainly crazy, isn’t it? The extreme of temperatures is quite amazing. It’s really all very scary.
  • Grey, wet, and boring here in Cornwall.
My son is hunkered down on the outskirts of Calgary. They live in the foothills of the Rockies and are used to wind storms but nothing like this one. The wind chill temp. was down to -30F a couple of days ago. Quite mild for them at this time of the year.

I hope all those having extreme weather, or related issues like no heating, are ok.

Dark and rainy here today. It’s a shame not to have a bit of sunshine on Christmas Day, but at least it’s not too cold.
My garden and I live in South Wales.
