Nearly choked on my tea w.edges...
...and at the subsequent comments. Brilliant. :D

KT - I know - the majority will be great, but it's the usual story. A minority tarring the whole lot.

R'girl - the  strip searches are surely the only reason for going to an airport, even if you're not flying anywhere.
Oh - is that just me then?

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I know that some people will take a temp job at the Post Office at this time of year for the express purpose of 'shopping'.

I no longer have a passport, philippa. ;)
I can't think of many things worse than hanging around airports.

I post a lot of plants out, if I take the parcel to the post office she asks me what’s in there, Plants, I say, Live plants, she asks, I feel like saying, No,dead ones.
most times I put the stamps on at home and the postman takes them for me, nothing written on the box of what’s in there.

The title of this post suddenly struck a chord. Unusually, I've had three Christmas cards delivered open so far this year.  Sometimes people tuck the flap in instead of sealing, but these were all open and flapping. Maybe envelope adhesive isn't as good as it used to be.

I’ve just been trying to group my friends into those who invariably use sellotape to re-seal envelopes and those who’d use glue. I came, well, unstuck.

In my case it certainly isn't a problem with substandard adhesive.  The flap had a 'fuzzy' edge where it had obviously been opened very carefully in an attempt to hide the fact that it had been opened.

  • Ooo  the mind boggles @wild edges 😀

I'd written to a friend, posted it nearby. She sent it back to me showing the state it was in when she received it......singed,bits of ash and scorched.Obviously someone had tried to set fire to the contents of the postbox. I went and had a moan at the main office, but they weren't bothered, just said to bring my post to the PO in future!!
Ps Our postie is a gem!You could set your watch by him in all weathers.

    Yes.  They hadn't reopened it.
