    Jemula, I've often looked at those Hulthemias like 'Eye Of The Tiger' but held off so far...  'Eyes For You' quite appeals too..

    I just planted another yellow this week.. 'Scented Garden'.. I know nothing about it apart from what the vendor says..

    Beautiful photographs of lovely yellow roses, @Marlorena . That’s interesting what you say about Charles Darwin, @floralies, I just have a feeling it’s not going to be happy where it is so will move it somewhere where it’s less exposed to ferocious heat in summer.

    I have gone with Jukia Child/Ab fab. I was very tempted by The Poets Wife but my supplier has now sold out so I missed it. Graham T does look lovely, but the throwing out long canes wouldn’t suit the space I have in mind.

    @granma
    ..thank you !...  that's Clematis durandii, just a bit showing there... it's herbaceous growing from the ground up each year, and needs a support of around 6 to 8 feet..

    Here it is as a  young plant a few years ago, without the rose.. I like its deep colour and ease of maintenance.. and wilt-free.. large thick foliage too..

    Thanks Lizzie... very tough plant.. I had to move it on a hot day in August.. it came up virtually bare rooted, I cut it back to about 3 foot, and it was in bloom again on 27th Sept, until late Oct.... it's a June-Oct flowerer...   'Rooguchi' is nice too, and very different..
