Hi @KT53 , I again beg to disagree with your views. For me, like on other forums I belong to, this feature works exactly as it should.
Feel free to disagree as much as you like, it doesn't change the fact the the 'New' label doesn't disappear from posts after I leave and re-enter the forum.  The indication of new posts does disappear when I do the same thing on every other forum I use.

On the several other forums I use the 'New' indicator only disappears when I've opened each individual thread ... that seems sensible to me ... if I log onto a site and check out a couple of threads then log out again I wouldn't want all the new indicators to disappear if I'd not read the new posts ... that would be misleading   :/

I think if you really want to get rid of the New sign, you will need to go into each thread and tap on the last number in that thread,
No.  You can get rid of all the 'New' signs by clicking the cogwheel in the top right corner of the screen and then selecting "Mark all viewed".  My point is, and always has been, that I don't have to do that on any other site.  The simple act of leaving the site clears those flags.  On next access the only 'New' indicators will be for posts made after the previous visit.

Gosh, that would be really annoying! Glad it's not like that on here or any of the other forums I use.

I agree too. I like it how it is.

I agree with @Fran IOM up until last wednesday once i had read the last post on a thread i could use the back button which would take me back to the recent discussions page at the thread i had read showing no new posts  on that thread.  Although this didn't refresh the page it did prevent the need to scroll down the page to find where i had left of, however i now have to use the recent discussions button at the bottom of the page to cancel the new button from that thread.  This then necessitates the need to scroll down through the threads again.

I haven’t got a cog wheel by the threads, only on the threads by admin.
i either click on the mauve square if I want to read posts on that thread or not if I don’t, it’s fatal for me to open photo threads, I have to reboot, 😀
