I thought people had stopped celebrating "fireworks nights", since we had no exploding skies since Sunday; but I was mistaken.  They're back.  It's past 10pm and exploding "bombs" are making the animals shiver pathetically with fear.  Surely it's common sense that at such a late hour they're more than just an irritation.

Fireworks and animals, not a happy combination.  I think these "celebrations", over recent years have become far more protracted and much too loud.  I don't like the horrible noise they make and neither do our animals.
Perhaps we should complain to the Ministry For Common Sense!  (Is it the same as the Ministry for Funny Walks? ;))

Did you mean Silly Walks?  Most likely.  It does sound funny and almost straight out of Monty Python!
