How, unfortunately, true.  Some people appear to find the stuff of politics as baffling, overtaxing and incomprehensible as atomic science and, thus, best avoided.  Others, tend to fear that in such discussions differences of opinion might appear and, thus, best avoided.

There are always those, of course, who simply "don't do politics".......

I've often wondered why some people, in a world where almost everything is, in some way or other, political, "don't do politics".  Could it be that such people are intolerant of the considered opinions (or otherwise!) of those who express views that do not match the strongly held, but revealed to none, opinions of the... "unpoliticals"??

... or that they’re so unsure of their own views they’re afraid of challenges ... as changing their opinion will alter who they think they are ...

Doesn’t apply to anyone on here obviously 👍

    REMAINERS

"They hate Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn. They no longer trust the BBC. They love civil servants, legal experts and James O’Brien. And now, consumed by the battle against Brexit, hardcore remainers are no longer the moderates."

"...since Boris Johnson became prime minister – as they have become convinced that Britain is in the midst of a rightwing coup – they have grown increasingly despairing."

What's "right" about it?  Rhetorical question.  (And yes, I do know why they're called "left" and "right"!)
