Maybe it's just while they're getting the kitchen done up. The shortage of building materials would have slowed things down and living on microwave ready meals can get a bit boring.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    Maybe  ;)
  • After lunch today, I thought, as it wasn't too hot and the soil neither concrete-like nor squelchy, I should get out there and do some tidying up in the garden.  I did quite a bit; but, when it came to the forget-me-nots, I didn't have the heart to lift them!  How soft can you get?  Unless I'm not the only softy around...

You guessed correctly, Danae; you're not!  I have the same problem with those blue darlings every year.  And here is the evidence: I removed some that were smothering my viburnum opulus and then stopped, though they're past their besTEST and clearly smothering everything else.

    Daft!

Thank you.  I like it too.  It was a very special gift. :)

I have a rather warm affection for a viburnum opulus too. Mine has a "special" place in the sunniest corner of my back garden.  It's just 3 years old.

I've put off removing the forget-me-nots for I forget how long; but, today is THE day and I must then pot on my beautiful long, very sweet peppers (I forget their ...brand but they're delicious- emphasis on FORGET!).  That won't leave me any time to photograph my viburnum opulusES( :D).  I have 3 in the back and 1 in the front garden.  So, 3 up on you, Zoe and Artemis.  🤣

    Well, did you?

Today, I lifted some of my forget-me-nots and put them behind the shed, for the seed to ripen; the rest hit the compost bin.  Feeling rather knackered, actually. (no vulgarities, actual meaning of word:utterly exhausted)

I'm intrigued.  I hope when it comes to you, you'll let us know?  I love sweet red peppers.

It reminded me of an occasion, many years ago, when a male colleague was having an early evening birthday drink in a nearby pub garden and after he had one slightly too many, told the waiter that he must've had a very long day because he looked "knackered".  The waiter took exception to the word and making a very rude gesture, pointing at his nether regions, told my colleague that he was VERY RUDE.

The slightly inebriated birthday boy, tried to explain the proper meaning of the word saying, horses are sent to the knacker's yard because they're exhausted and no longer of any use to the farmer, not for "rude" reasons.

    The waiter wasn't...buying!
