Urban dictionary could really use some fact checking. It used to be informative, useful and often amusing but now it seems to be mostly made up and excessively crude. That or I'm getting old and the youth really are butchering the language.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
The first thing I heard, after getting up this morning, was some Tory mp telling the nurses they are resorting to food banks because they don't know how to budget.
That made me see red. I couldn't get it out of my head, despite my efforts to divert myself. In fact, I didn't turn on the radio for the rest of the day. Moreover, it reminded me of some other Tory, sometime ago, saying the poor are poor because they don't know how to cook.
I'm just back from the hairdressers. They've put their prices up again. A haircut now costs £10 more than it did before lockdown.
That's the nature of the Tories, I think. If you're not filthy rich, you're worthless and, naturally, stupid...
I can't see what our nurses can do to enable themselves to pay their bills but protest. It seems the Tories want to carry on exploiting those whose professions are described as "vocational".
My hairdressers have been busy raising their prices too. Of course, if you're self-employed you can do this- though it's the rich that have prospered as a result of COVID, whilst many small businesses have folded.

I don't think this has been my day!

Perhaps change will come one day.
