  • Hi Helen, thank you for the link and the comprehensive summary of JJ's review.

I haven't quite finished Cameron's "Record" yet but I would agree that we are in this mess because of him: his inability to control and unite his party and his fear of losing his job.

Of course, hostile to immigrants, May, helped Farage do his dirty work and her later, equally irresponsible, mantra: "no deal is better than a bad deal" played exactly in to the hands of those who brought her down.  Up to then, I don't think anybody had mentioned "no deal"; not to mention the idiotic, "Brexit means brexit".

I note that Jo Johnson ascribes "the anger of communities left behind" to "globalisation and technological disruption", which of course played their part, but so did the policies of the Tories which deliberately targeted the poor, the sick, and the needy.  Moreover, there's not a single word relating to the role his lying brother played....

Obviously, his "record" too is selective!

Could we have a poll on what Johnson would have to do to alienate brexits? I will leave this to your imagination😖

Hi Helen, thank you for the link and the comprehensive summary of JJ's review.

Thank you from me too, Helen.

I've just read the review, JJ always writes engagingly, I think, but I haven't read the book yet!!

That's the new order of doing things... :D

I just heard on the radio that the American woman who caused the death of a teenager and then fled the country claiming diplomatic immunity has no such thing as her husband is not a diplomat as such.

One can't help feeling that, like their president, some Americans do believe in lying...

    That president....

I've just heard the current leader of the house shamelessly implying that our membership of the EU is a vassalage.

To his ilk the... honourable state of being is that of a vassal to filthy lucre.

Do you remember the days when we could smugly observe corrupt foreign governments and dubious foreign elections secure in the knowledge that it could never happen here?

I heard exactly the same version on Classic FM but when I later watched the BBC news, the story was somewhat different!

Whatever the confusion, this story is terribly sad.
