Fairy's post made me laugh too!

Have you gone off Norfolk, Dove? Or would The Pheasant just be a holiday home?

Went into town this morning for the Carol Service leaflets at the printers. Bought some Christmassy things like wrapping paper and ribbon.

Did some more clearing in the long border, but a friend rang then OH rang then farmer came with the hay delivery so I didn't get a lot done.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Love Easy Anglia BL, but we love the West Country too ... and it doesn’t have bitter east winds straight from the Urals :o

    Hello all

Those houses in lovely Kevin's programme were fab - especially Fairy's Scottish one.  How wonderful to live off-grid, in harmony with one's surroundings.  Just a dream for most of us, but a lovely one...

Hooray!  Both central heating AND hot water are working at last.  The poor boiler engineer has been losing weight running up & down our 27 stairs for the past two days.  I expect we'll have to pay the bill from hell in a few days, though...   :o

Thanks, @Dovefromabove - the Bereavement Team at Mum's bank have come up trumps.  I needed to phone them with a few questions, and they were really kind and helpful; chosen for their "bedside manner", I think.

Well.  *Sigh*.  The DPD saga continues... did they come in yesterday afternoon's one-hour slot?  Did they heck.  No note, nothing by email to say "you were out", no text message.  When I tracked the parcel, it said "nobody at home to sign for it" and that it had been taken back to the depot.  Finally found a phone number and email address for "issues" with my delivery; phone didn't allow me to speak to a human, just gave me the options for rearranging the delivery.  Filled in the email form with tracking number, name, postcode, mobile number, merchant's ID, my email address.  Ticked "I am not a robot".  Pressed "Submit"...  nothing...  their submit button doesn't work...   :#

Eventually I'll take it further through "Resolver", having looked at the process (thanks again, @Fairygirl), but I've taken the pragmatic decision to have the parcel delivered to a shop in town, because anything else will take longer, and it's a present for my son who I'll be seeing on Saturday.  Then I'll contact the merchant.  It was something light and smallish, and could easily have been sent by post - I think their customers would be happier if they used a more reliable delivery service.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

I have taken Mum shopping today. We had drizzle driving up the M1. Hail storm while we were in Boundary Mills at Rotherham. Rainbow when we came out . We then had high winds approaching Meadowhall, and so M1 speed limit was reduced to 40. When we came out of Meadowhall, we had blue skies, and sun in my eyes driving back.

GA Sylvia said, when blowing out her candles, she was told to make a wish.

She said     "I wish everyone could be as happy as me"

Wouldn't The World be a nicer place?

Liri - I think that was the issue for  me - I couldn't find an email address to contact them, and I don't trust what people say in phone calls. Resolver helped enormously with DPD, but they [DPD]  were very keen to make amends. I've just raised the new issue of double payments taken by Currys with them, but I don't know if it'll be so easy. Currys customer service employees also don't seem to be able to read... :#
I've just messaged my credit card company, to see if they can help with a refund, so will see what happens.
Lovely house Joyce, but I've had a look to see where it is, as I can't work it out. No info, but it's understandable! It looks stunning - would suit me fine. I didn't watch the prog this year, but I've done a catch up, so will try and see it soon.
Glad I made you laugh LP and BL. I couldn't really repeat here what we sometimes say to them... :D
Fidget - the world would indeed  :)

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
