Bought all my Christmas pudding ingredients yesterday, so tonight is “stir up” time. And tomorrow I need to finally get my tulip bulbs in their pots. Bit late for both - would normally have done it last weekend, but chicklets took priority 🐣🐥
Have a great weekend folks .....not long til warmth and sunshine now Hosta 😎😎😎
Good morning all. You're a bit previous @chicky ... Stir Up Sunday isn’t until 25th this year ... that’s when I do ours while listening to the Archers ... we used to hear Jill doing hers as well but they seem not to have recorded the pudding stirring in the Archer household in recent years a grave omission ... what is the world coming to?!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dove - my Christmas pudding timetable follows my Mum’s teaching, not the Archers. For her, the pressure cooker came out on Bonfire night .....in fact some people even call them bonfire puddings 😀. Maybe it was a Norfolk thing ....bit like tippet and Paddy-from-home 😝
Ah well there you are then @chicky... you’re probably more Norfolk than I am ... I only moved up here in my forties . My cooking traditions came from my paternal Grandma who was from the Beds/Cambs border. Ma didn’t do ‘cooking traditions’ as she’d grown up in a household with a cook ... after Ww2 when she no longer had household staff her mother (my gardening granny) regularly tried to poison us with raw sausages for breakfast and blew up the kitchen with a pressure cooker ...consequently Ma found cooking stressful. It didn’t help that her MIL (my paternal Gma mentioned above) was such an amazing cook

Morning/G’day all. It’s like the calm before the storm out - supposed to be heavy rain and wind later. I wish I had put the net over the pond now 😬 Habe a decent day everyone.
