I agree @Buttercupdays The names are said too fast and also just the Latin not common names or plant groups. They are expecting people to know too much. I also don't hear too well so their mumbling names is impossible , the worst for that are the female presenters, far too fast. As it seems long standing gardeners ff most of the programme let's get back to basics for at least half the programme and move garden visits to another show completely. This show should concentrate on new growers as they need the most help and as everyone is now encouraged to grow something there are alot of people out there with no one to ask advice from.
I sometimes switch on captions to be able to see how the Latin names are spelled. And if I’m interested in the plant I take a photo of the tv screen showing the plant and its name with my phone. This way I don’t need to write it down and it’s there any time I need it.
I agree GW is one of those life-saving programs that should continue to Eternity. I watch it every week though there is a good deal of translation needed for our tropical climate! What a wonderful idea it would be to have a "Winter Gardener's World" from, say New Zealand. Monty did a series on World Gardens not so long ago... You can do it BBC.....
It depends wht you want from a gardening programme. I think GW should be about what we need to be or can be getting on with in the week after it's aired plus some info on plants/gardens/techniques etc which might inspire us to try new stuff.
I'm quite happy to have a winter series on a particular theme - eg GH's former series, AT's HTBG, Carol Klein's year in her garden etc but I don't want a winter series on gardening from NZ because they're upside down and their seasons are the wrong way round for the main audience which is in the UK. If we do get a series on interesting and/or iconic gardens around the world, or even in the UK, I'd want it to be thoroughly researched so they were visited at the best time(s) of the year.
Don't ever want to see the Taj Mahal gardens filmed in the dry season or the Chinese royal summer palace gardens filmed in winter - both of which happened in Monty's 80 gardens. You wouldn't send a crew and presenter half way round the world to film the mating of an exotic animal without first checking it was the correct season.

B'Grove has a newsletter you can sign up for [email] and you can follow them on other social media, which often has extra plant info on it. Does G'sW not have that? I've never checked. As Obelixx says - they used to give plant names on screen. B'Grove does that. Why has that been removed, when it's what people need if they like a plant and want to buy it? Otherwise, you need the subtitles [which I use anyway] and you have to make notes, hoping the subtitle is correctly spelled, as you go along, if you can't record it and check later
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Fair enough Andy - I probably don't pay much attention to the screen Just google B'Grove and you'll get the details for signing up. It largely outlines what's on each programme, but there are links to various other things on it as well.

Having only been gardening a few years (in the small amount of free time afforded by raising small children), there's plenty I don't know, and especially plenty of plants I've never seen or heard of, so I tend to pay quite close attention!

Didn’t know about Beechgrove’s newsletter, will sign up for that!
I always watch GW on catch up, so if there’s something I want to make a note of it’s very easy to rewind and pause
