Hostafan - I completely disagree, I’d love his garden. But we each have our own tastes! For example, I’m no fan of hostas ;) And his fennel looks pretty darn tall to me... Mine is about 2 foot, but his looks at least 8! Admittedly, that’s not 10 or 12 I suppose. If I could grow some that tall I’d be very happy, I love it.
You disagree that the paths are so narrow that 2 people can't walk side by side? I'm sure there's not a garden on the planet which is universally loved by everyone.
As I said, it's his garden and he loves it, that's the main thing.

Hosta - ha, no, the paths are narrow aren’t they! I meant I disagree about it looking a mess, I really like that style :)

I love Monty's garden, I love the filming, the dogs, and his calm presentation. But my favourite sort of garden? A jungle garden like the one a couple of weeks ago in North London. No lawn just trees and plants tumbling into each other. For me - paradise. (PS The absolute opposite to the garden I've inherited).

That garden was stunning, but it somehow had an " order " about it, less chaotic.
It sounds like you have a bit of a project @Paul N Don't forget to take lots of photos, before and after .
I'm planning a massive re-shuffle next year and create  a jungle border .

A while ago my wife treated me to a PhotoBox photo album of our garden. This is where you send off all sorts of images of the garden (or whatever subject you like) and PhotoBox return to you a small bound book with the images in differing sizes. I now have wonderful pics of our last garden in it's prime, and it's now going into decline as whilst the new owners professed to have an interest in gardening, already a railway sleeper from a raised bed has been requisitioned into becoming a mantle piece. I fear it was be concreted over the next time I visit. Still shouldn't look back (too much). I have lots of plants saved and have spent a few weeks scratching my head trying to decide on paths, and how wide to make the beds. Fortunately we have some fabulous plants such as acers and a mature magnolia plus lots of various fuchsias, to enjoy in the meantime.

I used to look forward to watching GW but now I forget to watch it at all.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
