Garden Rescue.

  • I must be in a minority as I love garden rescue.  I think they come up with some great ideas and it's fascinating watching it all come together. There are always elements I don't like, and some better than others, but I do think Charlie and the rich brothers think about what people need and want and adapt accordingly.  My favourite programme. I would love to see them do a revisited version a few years later where they show how the garden has grown and how much work the owner has had to put in.
However, I can't watch love your garden.  The budget must be crazy and the sentimentality gets on my nerves.  Yes it's great these people will have a nice garden but it's all about how wonderful Alan is. And often they just seem to bulldoze the garden and put loads of structures in.

AT has one of those "special" sympathetic voices now , I used to like everything he did but can only watch "Love your G " on fast forward nowadays . I watch Garden rescue when it is Charlie's design

There is a saying "Once you can fake sincerity, you've got it made".  Applicable here?  I couldn't possibly say. :)

OMG as they say.  AT has started doing adverts for Funeral Plans now.  He sounds so caring and sincere!

Caught the last bit of Rescue today.  Loved the grey fence and the cottagey planting and that water feature but do wonder how critters will escape if they fall in.   Bit too much decking that'll get slippery in wet weather but a huge improvement on what they started with.

Are these new ones or repeats? I didn't know they were on. Quite liked the prog when I saw it before. As the saying goes 'it is what it is'.
Take ideas, or small points that suit, and forget the rest. Isn't that what all makeover shows are about anyway - whether indoor or outdoor?

I can't do AT's a**e licking, sycophantic  manner now either, and I used to really like anything he did  :/

Me too.  It's a shame to see him prostituting himself for cheap emotions.  Used t  think he was the bee's knees and a man of integrity but now I wonder.

"Can't be doing with the emotional aspect of AT's shows these days either KT tho I still think his How to be a Gardener series was one of the best ever garden shows on TV"

    Perfect analogy.

I do always remember his "How to be a gardener" tip about every plant having a front facing preference. That is always how I plant, but having watched his X Factor show, I wonder who he annoyed at the BBC.

Being in the business,  we know how much of a con that is, but people will fall for a good presenter with a simpering voice.    Another ad to fast forward.

He's actually done two versions.  One where he's saying what a good idea it is and the other where he said he'd taken one out so his family don't have to worry about funeral expenses.  With the amount of money he's earned over the years there's something wrong if there are financial worries.
