Do I need to rotivate before adding top soil to turf?

  • I agree give it a light trim it encourages tillering (thickening up). I would cut down on the watering now unless it stays very dry.  It looks great.

    Thanks chaps, gave it a mow on the highest setting so didn't collect a huge amount of cuttings but looks fine. Yourealise when you mow that it isn't particularly level 😂 funny as when it was the bare top soil it looked fine! Luckily it's now a show garden by any means so it'll have to do! 

    Will lay off the watering now as it does feel quite soft to walk on but hopefully it'll firm up as the roots really take hold.
