    Callistemon (Bottlebrush) seed pods?

Hi Bob! Sorry the Callistemon were an accidental inclusion (I knew what they were! 😊) - all photos are the same plant. I was leaning towards Tree Peony, however the flowers (which I sadly don’t have a photo of this time of year) are yellow and definitely not as showy as what I understand Tree Peony to be.

It sounds like one of the yellow species tree peonies such as Paeonia delavayi.  Those grown from seed are quite variable with some less showy than others.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • That does sound the most likely, Bob. I’ll have to wait until next year to confirm on the flowers!

Thank you all so much for your help. I’ll undoubtedly be back with another query at some stage. And thank you for being so welcoming!

The Paeony is P. ludlowii var lutea if it has small yellow flowers.
