What was your best tasting tomato this year?

I grew my old favourites Sungold and Gardeners Delight, which taste wonderful, as usual.  Also tried Balconi Red, which is early, prolific and tastes of nothing.  So looking for tasty alternatives to try next year.

I live in the South East and grow my tomatoes in a greenhouse. 🍅🍅🍅

    This year's up till now are black cherry Tom's. As I had to buy plants this year( no time for seeds) the Alicanti taste better than shop bought , but the gardeners delight as yet to ripen in numbers. The sun gold cherries are ok but hubby likes the black better. The black Russians are just ripening so yet to taste, but am not holding my breath as not impressed. Next year need to find a better tasting eating tom.

    Rosella are different and I really like them
    For a slicing tom I've yet to find anything that overall I prefer to Shirley. It looks, smells and tastes just as a good tomato should and so easy to grow. I try similar different varieties alongside (Sparta this year -very good- and Akron lat year - good, but solid cores)
    Sakura are recommended on the RHS site for flavour, so I'll try them next year

    The Rosella are cropping really well and I like the flavour, especially when roasted ... but Sungold still wins hands down on flavour. If only there was a large tomato with that flavour ....

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    My favourites are Pomodoro and Sweet Millions, always had good tasty crops from them - although this year I lost all the first trusses to BER, just the weather I guess.

    Always try one other variety just in case (next year it will be Sungold!) and this year it was Harbinger, they're OK but nothing to write home about, tastier than Alicante or Moneymaker but they still have that green core.

    I tried Harbinger this year, nothing special,  it a great deal of taste.  Sweet Million were nice, but lived up to their name,  I like the Jersey devil or Roma for cooking.  Last year did Sam Marzano quite  nice.

    Pomodoro looks like a good bet too - I like to have a couple of bush plants as well as the cordons.  

    Will check out San Marzano too

    I grow the Pomodoro as 'nearly' cordons @chicky as I have them in the greenhouse and it gets a bit crowded. Fan them out from the middle shoots as there is usually a bit more room once I've stopped fighting the cucumbers, get lots of fruit and love them for pasta sauce. Never tried the San Marzano but I am tempted now  :) Have a feeling some will have to go outside next year!

    Black Brandywine is delicious.  New one on me but will grow again.

    Yellow Pear is tiny but has a lovely delicate flavour and is very good semi-dried too and then we have a large, plum shaped orange one which is luscious but the plants are so vigorous I can't find the label but I'll definitely grow that one again.

    Crimean Black is very disappointing.

    San Marzano still ripening.

    Have just tasted my potato leafed Black Russian tomato, took a long time to ripen as it weighed 14 1/2oz. Nice firm flesh but hubby said lacked flavour. Maybe because I like flesh not pips I liked it better. Might look into growing a beef tom next year but need one that has flesh not seed. Any ideas?
