    The heat stops the chemical reaction in the fruit at about 30°, so the weeks of heat held them up. @Pete8 is always on the ball to help out with explanations.  Thanks Pete.😁

    BTW the middle two bushes are the experiments ones @Pete8 The end two are the ones with the leaves removed as usual

    They certainly look as if they're producing well @purplerallim
    I don't generally remove leaves until around now when the weather begins to get damp, but I'm very pleased with the harvest so far this year

    As I said before the two plants with more leaves removed are the ones I have picked from to date, the two with leaves are only just ripening, so maybe in a more normal year doing both will help with succession picking. Still won't be growing Black Russian again poor cropping.

    My Black Russian produced 2 tomatoes only.  That's 2 not 20!

    I feel your pain @Oldcompost , I've only picked one with four left to ripen from two plants!
