Palaisglide I like English weather, it is what makes the it such a "green and pleasant land".

That's funny, the first half of my post is missing!

It's tipping with rain here in Dordogne. The trouble with here is that in winter it is too cold or too wet and in summer it is too hot.

Stockton N.E. Rain at the moment around 6c sun forecast then more rain, at least it is not snow, the sharp frost this week ended up with nine road accidents. All my years driving a lot of it in Europe I never had an accident through weather conditions, we were taught to drive to prevailing conditions today they are not.

Bussy-Lizzie, I have relatives in France Gouenay-Loize, it was their life ambition to sell the farm and go. They have a nice house in a quiet Village but when they came home for a holiday I got the feeling they will be back here. Too hot in summer too cold in winter.
Daughter in Sonora California have had snow already and it gets deep, what with fires and the cost of living they too are have second thoughts.
My relatives in Canada are used to it so happy with half a year snow and half a year cooking, give me little old England, we talk about the weather because there is always something to talk about.
They will be closing the board down soon for the festive season (well they did last year)
I wish every one a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy new Year.
    Frank.

Good morning all sunny and not very cold. It was great walking the boys this morning.
  • My Dad's first topic of conversation was the weather - and I now find I am doing just the same on here!
Today it is sunny with intermittent showers, not cold or windy thankfully.

I love our weather thread as it gives me the chance to mention the weather to the like-minded. My late Mum was the go-to for weather and any special events like Blue Moons. I have definitely inherited that!
Oh: I only saw dark and rain today. Shortest day tomorrow ☹️
My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • Yes technically shortest day tomorrow but actually much the same until 25th/26th what a coincidence- not :D   Quite a reasonable day here in N London just as well for my last volunteer day for this year.
