Our poor old puss is still rather leaky in the bowel department so we took her to the vet this morning.

A couple of minutes to manipulate her naturally rather robust middle region, one attempt to listen to her heart (inaudible due to the fact that she was purring too loudly), one thermometer up the bum, two shots of something anti-diarrhoeal, a prescription for three days’ supply of some probiotic powder - resulted in a bill of £74.69.

We took our cat for his annual boosters & healthcheck yesterday. Similar price. But she also quoted us for a 'dental' - over £700 !!
How much???  :o Alfie had an abscess on his face a couple of weeks ago, the vet visit, a painkiller injection and a 10 day course of anitibiotics was just over 40 Euros. I wonder if you're all suffering from private equity syndrome, which fingers crossed hasn't hit us yet.
  • Vets around here charge £25.00 for you to step over their threshold.
I was recently refused a request for a repeat prescription saying it was illegal for them to prescribe without actually seeing the animal.
