I hope this doesn't upset the cats... (all rather gorgeous, I have to say)
We have also Millie, a nearly 9 yr old staffie x ? She came into the rescue I volunteer for (hands or camera on at the time, remotely now) with her mum and siblings when she was 5 days old. She's getting a bit wonky now, bad arthritis, which is no surprise as she's got a bit of a deformed rear end, including no tail.
And then this little squirt is the everything eating, everything chasing horror that is Alfie. He's from the same rescue. We were his 4th home when he was just 15 months old.
Hi Everyone, I have Poppy, just 17 years old we guess this month, a brown tabby and Robbie, a white and gold 12 years old Shi Tzu who I took on aged 6 years. No camera, no pics. After some discussion amongst other dog walkers who use the local Village Green regularly, the committee have just erected a 5ft. "totem pole" where dog owners can put plaques in memory of their dogs. I originally suggested having a bench but it was transposed into a wooden tree trunk, from a tree that needed to be cut down. Recycling at its best. It looks a bit stark at the moment but I am sorely tempted to put a plaque there for my previous dog and hang her chewed baby collar with it. I am sure there are a lot of people who have kept lead, collar, name tag mementos of their pals who would do the same.
Companions? - maybe not. But these gorgeous creatures are certainly pets. These are cichlids from Lake Malawi in the African Rift Valley. In the hobby they're known as 'Peacocks' but both belong to the genus Aulonocara.

Our poor old puss is still rather leaky in the bowel department so we took her to the vet this morning.
A couple of minutes to manipulate her naturally rather robust middle region, one attempt to listen to her heart (inaudible due to the fact that she was purring too loudly), one thermometer up the bum, two shots of something anti-diarrhoeal, a prescription for three days’ supply of some probiotic powder - resulted in a bill of £74.69.
We took our cat for his annual boosters & healthcheck yesterday. Similar price. But she also quoted us for a 'dental' - over £700 !!

Beautiful. 🙂 Do they need a lot of care and attention?
Thanks. I do a 30% water change every week, which takes a while with a 5' tank, but I send the old water to the water butts during the summer. Other than that, not really much effort.
