Bathroom to garden?

I bought a fern to put in my bathroom about a year ago,and it has gone mad,it needs repotting I think,though I haven't taken it out yet.If I split it,can I put some in the garden?Ferns in the garden die off anyway,is there a difference?

That's great Obelixx,it's seems it can't go below 13 in winter,so that's the answer! As you say,split it and share!
