Look what I found amongst my petunias

SonnieBSonnieB Posts: 124
Good afternoon all

I was just deadheading my petunias after a week of neglect and found this hidden away inside the pot

Not sure how a bird would even get in there, the plant was like a jungle.  Not really sure what to do, I guess I should leave it where it is.

I wonder if something else buried that rather than a bird laying it.

It'll be a rotten hen's egg, buried by a fox ... remove it, and bin it or compost it if the compost heap is far enough away from anyone' kitchen door/open windows etc ... it'll stink to high heaven if/when it breaks.

Thank you @Dovefromabove and @nutcutlet.  It has cleared up the mystery of the holes that have been dug up and why I yet again had to buy another hosepipe as the one I had developed a leak and I was suspicious something had chewed through it.  Just discarding the egg now.

I found a sausage once, buried in the veg plot.   I think there must have been too many left over after a BBQ somewhere.

I found one of those dog chews. It was huge .
I left it on the ground. It was gone in the morning, hopefully planted more sensibly

I have the opposite problem, daughter's dog buries his treat if its too big for him. When he visits again off he goes to retrieve it, but its gone! He digs and digs, looks puzzled but I don't think he's worked out yet that the fox got there first  :D
