  • Ahhh we have had bad issues with ants the past 2 years. The year before (our first year here 2015) in early June we had a bouncy castle/slide in our garden for my son's birthday party.....on that same day as we were out enjoying the party thousands of flying bugs appeared all over the garden....it was awful as they were irritating everyone......I found out they were "May/June bugs so got a specialist out who charged my £100 to spread this stuff all over my garden to combat them....since then my grass has gone to shot and I have tons of weeds in it, then last year a massive problem with ants so i got another specialist out to sort them.....he said I not only had the normal everyday ant but also "yellow meadow ants" (they are nearly see-through in colour). So he treated all the ant mounds with a special powder (had to dig up at least 12 nests to pop the powder down) he came back once more......but to be fair what he did didnt work so yet again this year I have the same trouble, but don't see mounds all over the grass as I did last year......they seem to like along my 6ft fence and next to our wall near where our gas comes into our house..... I watered the garden every evening the other week when it was scorching hot and to my shock lots of big flying ants appeared all over my garden......do you think these holes could be from flying ants???? If so what shall I do? I'm a lone parent so don't really want to fork out £100s on a specialist who isn't really helping any 😲😲😲 at my wits end..........
