Thank you @Richard Hodson . If there are 2 with the same name, l had better check if l come to buy one! Maybe they will rename one " Duchess of Sussex".  :)
  • The RHS site lists a plant as Meghan.  An American Facebook site claims to have named a plant Princess Meghan, this is the small flowered cultivar.  Both look to me to be different than others on the market, but colour pictures of clematis can be quite deceptive, have the plants been trialled, or just rushed on to the market ?   I hope that they turn out to be good garden plants.

I love that dusky purple on the Meghan you showed us but, like I said, it's very much the same as my Jan Fopma which is perfumed.

No Meghans at all on the Hull university website I use as a general reference for clems so clearly too new for that.  http://www.clematis.hull.ac.uk/new-clemlistsearch.cfm

I love baby Louie, so I'd get that one.  :)
even if you didn't like the plant? I'm just curious.
They all look kind of nice to me, so if I had to pick one out of the Royal named ones I'd go with Prince Louie.

Not usually a lover of purple flowers, but this one is very pretty. Looks like dangling bells 😍
As for The Duchess of Sussex, I'm still unsure. They look a very happy couple.  I'm  a big fan of Harry, I'm hoping she love him as much as he loves her.

I've nothing against any of them and I wish them well.

I'd scale back the family. Monarch and the next 4 in line. The rest can get a job , buy their own house just like the rest of us. If someone want " a Royal" to open something, pay them, it's be a job so why not? ( if they chose to do it free, all the better )

I'd go further and move them to Windsor and turn Buck House into a gallery / museum to rival The Hermitage in St Petersburg and charge folk to visit it.

They could keep a suite there for " the balcony shot" for special occasions.
    Devon.
