You can't beat this forum for petty bickering, that's for sure

I’m finding that ironically, this gardening forum is rife with it @nutcutlet.  Gardening is a wonderful, relaxing and rewarding occupation. Ironically, many posts don’t reflect that attitude. Like I say, move on - nothing to see here!

We are not in agreement Chris.   You think it's irrelevant enough to move on.  I don't.  It's fundamental to communication.

Communication is a weird thing @Obelixx. My two posts maintain that Latin is crucial for clarity amongst horticulturalists but not non gardening folk.  Your post @ 21:18 maintains the same stance.  My posts also maintain that if anyone has an issue with that, to phrase it differently, jog on. I can’t be arsed getting animated nor using provocative words behind the comfort of the anonymity of the armchair warrior.

There's room for all, .. we are not writing for publication here...  although I prefer Latin names, I strongly doubt many members here, even the more experienced ones, can keep up with the many changes going on these days, with plants being moved from one group to another with such frequency.... so it's best not to be too strict as you could so easily be caught out...

    Aster 'Alma Potschke'
Symphyotrichum novae-angliae 'Andeken an Alma Potschke'...

only one is correct, but who's going to bother..?...
