     :) I work a similar principle with cake. I don't smoke or drink, therefore I can eat more cake because I've a long way to go catching up on the self harm. 

    And to the OP - I don't think there are any 'normal' gardeners. I've not met one yet. Eccentric to a man/woman. In the nicest possible way

    Me too. I have all sorts of twisted mental accounting going on most of the time, I suspect. It saves time.
