    More for my wishlist!
I'm already hankering after one I saw at Tatton a year or two back, another dark one, 'Midnight Dream'.
Someone next to me liked it too and was asking lots of questions, so I earwigged the answers, but didn't dare join in, as it was Monty Don. and I didn't want to be seen as a pesky fan!

The beast from the east did our Black Pantha in & we have not managed to get a replacement yet. They did so well last year so we really miss them.

We often get wet and cold winters here, so I lift my Agapanthus at the same time as the dahlias and keep them in the GH.
I have a number of seedlings from my Midnight Blue that mean I may be able to risk an experiment one year.
I hate losing any plant and it makes it worse if it is an expensive one!

Just to say that my agapanthus took a couple of years to flower, but it's now having a riot, keep the faith. Some seawead extract is good for flowering too (most plants).

All of my 70 odd agapanthus are in pots and go into the polytunnel in the winter. Not so much for the cold here in Devon ( apart from The Beast ) but because of the winter rain.

Can I say that one of the biggest causes of non flowering is lack of food and water the previous summer/ autumn. I think folk tend to forget about such things once the flowering has passed.
    Devon.

Note to self " stick a label in them before they pass over"

Hosta I think you are right it was probably the snow sitting on the crowns as much as the cold that caused our losses. That said most of the  ones we have in the ground were fine only ones in pots were lost, but they were different cultivars though.
