If was given two agapanthus this summer - one flowered beautifully the other not! They are in large pots outside my front door and still have green leaves. Now winter has hit us and it is minus 3 at the moment, what shall I do? Do I bring them in to the house/garage or can they stay out?? House is warm and garage cold and quite dark. Help please urgent! Thankyou
Reply to hathor: not sure if your plants are growing in pots or outside in the soil. The leaves of my agapanthus growing in pots almost always die right back in winter. I cut these all away at compost level, and new leaves will develop in spring.
Do you treat dwarf agaphantus (variety "Streamline") the same as the larger variety? I over winter my large agaphantus in my unheated garage and it's done fine for years. The dwarf one (the foliage does not die back) spends the winter in the same location but will not flower.
