Plenty scent wafting from my lavender, not much from the honeysuckle and still waiting for my tree lillies to burst open. I have mint, lemon balm, lemon verbena, lemon thyme and pineapple sage but I can never smell those unless I rub the leaves anyway. I have passed other gardens that have a lovely strong scent, I've often been tempted to knock on the door and inquire what it is! I can't wait for my acidantheras to flower too, smells very perfumy, and I've planted some night phlox which I have high hopes for.
The perfume from our sweet peas is so strong that I've had to take them out of the house as I was feeling woozy ... they're on the terrace but we can still smell them indoors

My honeysuckle has been fabulous this year. The humidity has been quite high so that could explain it. Nothing much from anything else including my really smelly rose at the front. Even the lupins were quiet until 'the beast' wrecked them. I always plant Blue Vein Surfinia and they attract flying things of all descriptions all day and moths like nobody's business in the evenings! They've done their job as usual. I only do three baskets as I don't want passers-by dropping in for a pint thinking it's a pub but the insects really love them and I missed them last year when I didn't bother.
This has been my best year ever for honeysuckle flowers, and the scent has been strong. But nothing from my Ena Harkness rose or Pilgrims. I miss them.
I have just bought a honeysuckle from Aldi "Belgica" It says it is highly fragrant. The planting information is very good. I have been wanting one for ages.
I had only gone to shop in Halfords for a new headlight bulb, and came back with the plant. The rhodendron I bought from Aldi several years ago is lovely. Their plant stuff seems good. £4.99.
Lonicera Belgica is gorgeous ... ours has been amazing this year .... at a previous garden we had Belgica and the similar but later flowering Serotina which followed on from it ... lovely
