    I think they can cope with cold, but not wet.
    As it is (usually!) wet here, I lift mine and overwinter them in the GH and that way I get good plants for several years.
    You do have to watch the new growth for slugs though, they love them!

    I have tried growing over the past few years from seed but when I transplant into the ground they get eaten. Last year I grew in pots and kept them in my greenhouse over winter and spring. I've kept them in pots this summer so far and they're forming buds. But I'm worried to plant them just in case they get eaten again
