Wee Black Beastie. What was it?

  • I have found a site called ORKS where I have posted my sighting of the wee black beastie. It is a wild life organisation for Cornwall. They have a clever map system where I got within 10 metres of where I saw Blackie. They are monitoring mink down here, not enough money to do anything concrete yet. Something to do with floating rafts which are very expensive but also very successful at trapping mink which are threatening to wipe out our native water vole as they eat the young because they are small enough to get inside the warrens of the voles. The mink are euthanized so look away anyone who sympathises with the mink which were introduced into this country in the 1950 and 60s for their fur, before being released into the  wild, mainly by the animal rights groups in their attempts to rescue the mink. They were also released by people who took them on thinking that like ferrets, they would make good pets, not.
