    They'll be back, don't worry.

I have more bees now than in early months.  I have some mini echium Little Bells in flower and the bees are loving them - so am I. They were grown from seed and are just 12 inches tall. I would strongly recommend them for ease of growing and the results are so pretty. There certainly are more bees here than in previous months. No ladybirds here either - just one in the garden a couple of months ago.

ooo, I have lots of borage, but Cerinthe would be great. I'll message you.

Anne, who keeps 5 bee hives in our garden is inundated with honey. She's never seen anything like it.
Maybe all your bees have come to Devon?
    Devon.

Today is the first day I have noticed the bees - it’s because my Lavenders are coming out and the bees are buzzing! I do fancy that I have seen more Butterflies this Summer, but maybe because I’m outside more? Saw a massive Dragonfly on Saturday so keep looking out for more.
My garden and I live in South Wales.

I've noticed more butterflies here too. They prefer the drier weather.

Also the drumstick alliums are buzzzzzing.

I seem to have a lot of bumbles and other "furry bees" (excuse the technical description!), but not so many honey bees.

Great thread - today I found three bees in my garden! My garden is around 60ft by 25 and packed full of different flowers and veg, currenlty in flower runner beans, phlox, buddlia, love in a mist (love this plant).
  • Had lots on the comfrey when it flowered then about 6 weeks when I hardly saw a bee or hover fly suddenly all is well they love my heucheura flowers, scabious, rosemary, lavender, cosmos and oregano. Mainly various types of bumble bee but some smaller honey bees and some red admiral and cabbage white butterflies. Big sigh of relief.

Am I the only person who has noticed the huge numbers of dragon/damsel flies?
