Gardening express - Can't believe I've fallen for it again.

    I bought several brugmansia several years ago from a tropical plant speciialist nursery, one was the wrong colour from the label, I sent them a pic of the plant in flower and the label, they promised me a replacement, said thy had none that year because of poor weather, found the invoice earlier this year, contacted them, oh, yes, they had my letter etc, STILL waiting!

  • I’ve just received my order from gardening express and after spending over £90 on grasses and verbenas, all 12 verbenas are totally dead.  Received the five separate boxes spread out over a week so I’m assuming that the courier Yodel is at fault here, although if plants had been very healthy to start off surely they would have survived five days in transit.  Third disappointing order from gardening express and they never respond to complaints submitted via their website.  Conveniently no telephone number - this is probably due to the fact that all their staff would need to man the phone line to fend off the complaints.

    i did exactly the same. Was conned by their cheap offers last time and only a few plants they sent were ok. Then just ordered from them again. Twice.
    why didn’t I learn? Plus am waiting and waiting for the first of my 2 latest orders to be delivered...
    is that why the plants arrive dead or damaged- such slow delivery?

  • There doesn't seem to be any recent comments on this company so thought I'd put that right as they've clearly got even worse over lockdown. Look up Trustpilot reviews! I ordered £120 of plants from them end of April. Most of them arrived in various stages of neglect - from damaged to rotten. I made various attempts to get my money back with no success - they make it impossible for you to contact them apart from a 'ticket' complaint system to which they don't reply. And now they have closed the ticket! My experience is similar to hundreds of others including one poor woman working for NHS who was clearly hoping her plants would be a distraction during a horribly stressful time. Really hope Trading Standards shut them down. They seem to have been getting away with it for years!
