Gardening express - Can't believe I've fallen for it again.

Will I ever learn.  Just fallen (again) for a gardening express.co.uk offer on Bowles mauve.  Supposedly in bud and bloom.  Not one flower on them, 2 dead and the rest terrible.  No telephone customer support apparently due to data protection regulations - utter rubbish.  Filled in 2 complaint forms and no response.   Why don't these companies act fairly with us and ship healthy looking plants?

'cos they're cheapskate con artists ... just like whoever it was who sold a new gardener posting on here some bare root roses in June twisted  When I'm in charge they'll get their come-uppance  whip2

https://www.odrcontactpoint.uk may be of some use. They are part of trading standards  dealing with online purchase problems.  :)

If you paid for it by credit card, contact the credit card company. Goods supplied not fit for purpose. The credit card company should refund you and take it up for you.

    Agree fb.
I got some geraniums from an offer in The Telegraph about 8 yrs ago -  I can't remember the details, but 2 were doa. I emailed The Telegraph twice and got no response.
I called Barclaycard and got a no-quibble full refund almost immediately.
The remaining (FREE) geraniums continue to perform well :)

I recently used G.E for the first time and was not as impressed as with other suppliers I used this year. The plant did look a bit lack lustre but I am hoping it will pick up with some TLC. I suppose I should consider myself lucky it wasn't DOA.
  • Still fuming.  I like DOA, took me a while to understand what that meant.  I also loved David Austin, I sent them a photo of one of the roses that had died - brown all over.  The customer support person said "it looks like it is failing to thrive"....  They did replace it though and responded very quickly.  Nothing like these garden express cowboys or girls.
  • Got a full refund after 3 online submissions and one formal letter.

Hi there PG! Just wondered how 'formal' was your letter? Was it email or treeware? Am having a few problems with GE myself...

  • Hi there, I used their online submission form and I followed up with a formal letter when I had no response after the 3rd.  Use mine as a template if you like... good luck!

I received this order and am extremely disappointed.  Many of the plants are dead, branches broken and none of them are in bloom which is what you advertised and caused me to purchase in the first place.

I have submitted two forms with photos and I enclose another photo.  I have had no response whatsoever and your company is impossible to deal with and doesn’t fit today’s requirements for an online business.   Please refund my order completely as you have not fulfilled the order to my satisfaction and I am very unhappy with what you have sent.  I have been misled.
